Hello Stephane, personally speaking, I am thrilled what my PMP has earned me in three short months. From a curiosity perspective, I applied at several companies and recieved interviews with all thus proving PMP letters after your name indeed thrusts your resume to the top.

In the world there are a lot of people that define himself project manager without know what is really project management. At the same time there are a lot of companies which request Project manager without know what project manager do. The focal point of the question is not PMP certification assures an increment of the pay but it is necessary to create a real PM culture for having PMP certification correctly appreciated

Bravo Fosco, I agree. I started this thread from a perspective of wanting to hear from others and candidly speaking, I agree the focal point is truly the necessity to create a genuine PM culture and its appreciation. Before I earned my PMP, I noticed several others with PMP credentials that never made a change to introduce PMBOK methodologies (yes, there are many other models) versus the vacant model used where employed.

Thanks John, I agree your comment. anyway remember one of the most mportant "principle" where PMI philosophy is based is the tailoring. In other words no all knowledge included in PMBOK have to be applied but only these ones which are useful for your project and in the dimension you need
