Fully agree with you Lawrence. Very interesting your future work because I am working on that and I have been working on that from 1990. Because I was part of the USA DoD NSF/Agility Forum I have used (with adaptations sometimes and with my personal work and research to make the modifications) what that forum creates and you can find inside the Mr Rick Dove´s work named "Response Ability". No matter the way you will follow is good for me to see that people like you are working in this type of things to apply agile. Today, in the organization where I am working, we are using a framework to do that and we are integrating what you state above - ITIL/MoV/MoP/CMMi). I had worked to create version 1 and 2 of DSDM years ago. While we are using SCRUM today to deliver any type of product (not software only) I think DSDM is more robust than other methodologies and is more adaptable to other type of disciplines. Thank you very much for your answers to my comments. I learnt a lot.

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for contributing to this discussion, appreciate it. Project management as in PMBOK is a framework that is helpful in facilitating project deliverables (the end results) and reducing risks. And I truly aligned with Lawrence that Agile is mindset and behaviours. My concern is project management per PMBOK can be perceived as rigid, although there is the element of change control. In today's world, the operating environment changes faster than project, and if the mindset of the project manager and team don't adapt fast enough, the one who suffer is the organisation.

Management is about execution of business objectives by middle managers, Leadership is more setting the direction/objectives the team needs to journey. Good leadership is few and revered

As you mention, "perceived as rigid". Because is a perception is a subjective matter. And in this case this perception is wrong and it could be because a lack of understanding. PMBOK is a guide so you can use what you want from it. So, it is impossible to say that PMBOK is rigid because what is rigid is the process you will use to put in place the PMBOK guide. About change if you are talking about environmental changes you are talking about the use of agile at enterpirse wide and that is what I have written in my article and it is about Lawrence is working on. That is because I have put my other post where I tried to explain about something practical by using Tom Peter´s Seven S model. Inside the model variables what you stated above is addressed.
