How are you using the Risk Register to inform Board Members?

The Risk Register is a great tool if it is used properly.

How are you using to tool to inform the board?
Who validates the ownership of the risk?

I usually show my top three risks and top three issues. Ownership is usually validated by the assigned owner: if she is not the right one, she will let me know who is.

First of all we need to clarify the format you use as your risk register document. Second, to inform anything related to the project to an stakeholder you have to perform project stakeholder analysis first. Third, you have to create your project communication plan based on your project stakeholder analysis. In my case, I ever use the risk register as an input to create multiple views depending on stakeholder needs.
