This is a question in PMChallenge:
In Control Scope process -which of the following are examples of Organization process asset INPUTS?
1) causes of variances
2) Corrective action chosen and the reason for the action
3) Both of these
4) Neither of these
I answered 4) neither of these, But it shows this as wrong answer..
It shows correct answer as 3) Both of these.
Explanation given is "Both of these are examples of the types of organizational process assets that are OUTPUTS to the control scope process"
I guess question and answer are not matching. Is it wrong question OR I am missing something? Saving Changes...

Good catch, Malhar. It looks as though "inputs" is incorrect in the question.
I would also say that the answer could also be better phrased: "outputs from the control scope process."
Some of the PMChallenge questions do have errors in them. Hopefully, by flagging them, they will get fixed. Saving Changes...

Malhar, The question is not well framed - the language of the Q needs to be improved. But, otherwise the Q is fine. 'Input' or 'Output' in the Q does not matter - answer would be '3'. By mentioning 'Input' in the Q, they have made the Q little bit more tricky. it is important that you understand the essence of the PMBOK guide. OPA contains historical information. Whatever is produced as o/p in a project can potentially become part of OPA. The historical information (as part of the OPA) can be used as i/p to various processes. A general comment on ITTO Q. It is extremely difficult (next to impossible) to solve ITTO Q by mugging up ITTOs. Like this Q can not be solve by pure mugging up. Even if the Q had said 'Output', pure memorization would not have helped. It is important to understand the logical flow of processes and purpose of processes & their ITTOs.

First of all, this type of options to choose an answer will never appear inside a PMI certification exam (just to clarify). Saving Changes...

I think the intent is to say are these items OPAs which are inputs to the process. The way the question is structured however, it seems to ask are they inputs to OPAs which are part of Control Scope.
It's poor sentence structure because it is unclear which subject (Control Scope or OPA) is modified by the word inputs. Saving Changes...

There is no benefit in complaining about how a prep question is asked. The purpose of PMP prep is making you think and not getting confused.
In this thinking, prep questions should be more difficult than real exam questions.
We seem to agree that the 2 item are OPAs.
This is an example of a process with has the same OPAs as output and as input. Saving Changes...

Q: In the Control Scope process, which of the following are examples of organization process asset inputs?
1 - causes of variances
2 - corrective action chosen and the reasons for the action
3 - Both of these
4 - Neither of these (Both of these are examples of the types of organizational process assets that are outputs to the Control Scope process.) This explanation is under Ans: 4 ............................ Why this is the case... I answer Both of these as (Ans: 3) was correct according to my own understanding.. BUT this answer is incorrect, according to the auto answer portal. I tried to search it in the PMI portal ... Is PMP is an exam where luck works .............?????????????????? Saving Changes...
