I need to ID a mentor in PM & OD for my career advancement as a project manager. Once my mentor-ship is of the ground intend to payback by taking on men-tees from my project team.

Double check with your local chapter if you are a member of one, this is the best way.

You need to go to your PMI account, check your local chapter and register in the one closest to you and pay the annual fees which should be around $25-$30 annually.

You can also go directly through the PMI Kenya Chapter:

They might be able to help you without a PMI membership. I know some do.

Another idea: visit the PMI Africa Conference #2 in Ghana and meet 100s of PMs, meet many and ask 3-4 to be a mentor. If one is worth it, the person will say yes.

To me a mentorship should be face-to-face as much as possible, so local person is key

yes face2face is always the best communication.
I am mentoring 2 mentees per monthly phonecalls and others in a mix. It works also fine.
Its like virtual teaming, once you have a trust base, it can work.
