1. The word legit is a very strong word --- to me anything can be legitimate if from a reputable organization.

2. Accredited is also a word that might not be used properly. Accredited by who? There is NO single authority for project management that can accredit or not accredit certifications by various organizations.

Sorry for being a bit academic about this because it is important to be clear in our communication.

Any company can have "certifications". It's best if it comes from a NPO.

I'm certain you learned after a few pages of reading or simply reviewing the PMI website their is no greater recognized or reputable certification in project management outside of the PMI.

With all due respect - I do not know whether to laugh or cry.

"There is no reputable certification ... outside of PMI"?

Have you heard of IPMA, GAPPS, GPM, AACE ... asapm?

PMI certifications - some of them - rank lowest in certifications comparison in term of learning and other factors. Yes, the PMP is the most popular because of the mighty marketing power of PMI that does not make it the best.

Mounir, I encourage you to laugh UNTIL you cry. I have heard of your above mentions and believe you coined it well about the PMI marketing powers. I wonder if a poll has ever been conducted on this site to ask people across the globe, which PM certification they believe has greatest merit. It would have to address their employer location. I would enjoy seeing the "OTHER" comments.
