Most I.T. Certifications recommend consistently scoring 80% or higher a few times in practice exams before scheduling to take the real exam.

This has always stuck for me except that I try to add "score 80% or higher a few times in practice exams I haven't taken already" - so i avoid memorizing answers ;)

I was not as much focused on the final score as long as it was a pass score. After couple of mock exams it was absolutely clear which areas are easy for me and which I still struggle with. So I just concentrated on the areas which I am not confident in and re-read the material on the subject multiple times. After that repeated the mock exams to double check, if I am better.

75% would be ideal, and the attendee must consistently take 75% and above in a couple of attempts to be sure that they are ready for certification exam.
