I have been curious why the exam does not tell you what questions you answered wrong? I know they tell you % of the Group but there are many questions I have studied that have incongruous process names which can lead one to get a wrong answer because they name two processes but not the actual correct process in the knowledge area.
One example:
What is the process where you formally accept the complete Project Scope?
a- Perform Qlty Control
b- Verify Scope
c- Control Scope
d- Develop Sched
Answer is B
BUT ACTUAL answer in PMBOK is VALIDATE SCOPE.
So why do they do this? To me, its not just confusing, but when learning guidelines to adhere to in PMBOK, its distasteful to have erroneous names of Processes when there could be more than one answer and if you are wrong, then one should be taught ALL synonymous words when a TESTING AUTHORITY substitutes true names with similar naming. Its like taking a drivers test for a license and not knowing why you failed.

Hi Steve,
i can here you.
Where does this question come from? Mostly it is free available material of low quality or often just not updated. PMI sometimes changes names (of processes for instance) from one edition to the next and those changes will often not be proceeded in such free material.
That is exactly the reason why i do allways promote using professional online exam simulators.
Regards,
Markus

I think this happened because the question (mostly in the web based stimulation questions) is not update to the current version of PMBOK. therefore please refer to current version of PMBOK

Great answer ! It was a from a NJ school for Proj Management, and a series of 900 questions. Most of these are great and accurate question-answers. But I have seen other similar answers. Often PMP or CAPM cert test samples show questions asking for a process. Then the answer is not a process name but a pseudonym. How is this conducive to my learning? Especially when one question demands accurate naming and then the next does not? So your saying its possible the VERIFY SCOPE Process answer is now the VALIDATE SCOPE Process.
That would make sense.

Hi Kenneth,
Exam simulation is a good way to prepare. However more practice and concentrating on the sections you didn't do well earlier helps.
Good luck! Saving Changes...

ah ha ! thank you. I should read those changes so I am ready for those questions.
I would probably invest in a prep course and take a little time off from work.
I've found that some organizations don't adhere strictly to PMI standards, so often a lot of PM's get confused with what they're used to vs what PMI framework sets forward as best practice.
It never hurts to be a little extra prepared. Later on, you can always coach new PM's with the knowledge you keep! Saving Changes...

All the time keep four values (responsibility, fairness, honesty, and respect) in your mind with top priority (it is one kind of your personal values must be aligned with the values of PMI). This is because most of the questions value based even sometimes mathematical questions too. Therefore, you have to choose best out of best answer giving priority to PMI value system. Most of the cases we miss values part. Wish you all the Best !! Saving Changes...
