Hi,

Unfortunately I'm relatively new to leading virtual teams which is my next challenge. Any tips you might want to share on the best exercises or games you did over video conferencing? My team is about 6-8 members and we all speak the same language.

Thanks in advance and best regards

- Michael

Mike,

You take the lead and start sharing things about the project, set the ground rules, set the expectations .
One game I came across recently is to take set of coins with some random years and ask the participants to pick one of them and talk about that year written on that coin, probably it serves as a icebreaker.

I've used that one for Toastmasters' Table Topics once. The problem is to make sure that the coins are not older than the players.

Search for "team building games over video conference" in Google, Mike. You will get a lot of hits, including the one provided by Bala. Good luck and remember: the game should be meaningful - it should increase team spirit, trust, confidence, ...

You probably don't want to wait until November to get some tips, but I would recommend the Virtual' target='_blank'>http://virtualworkingsummit.com/">Virtual Working Summita/. It's a free annual conference about how to work virtually and the host gives you the opportunity to send in your questions in advance to ask the expert speakers.
