Looking for guidance on working as a remote project manager; Best practices, ePMO services.

Currently Im still in transition from active duty to complete retirement. But this shouldn't stop me from being fully engaged as a remote project manager. To better understand this market I would need more direction to help.

1, Best Practice.
2. ePMO services.
3. What are the term of employment; contractor, employee etc.
4. Are there remote project management agencies.

Hello Tracy,

Here are few Best Practices I have used myself when I was a Remote PM.

1. At the outset, let the team know how you can be contacted using communication channels like Chat, Skype, of course email and phone. As People won't see you physically, your presence is only shown by your availability on these platforms.

2. Communicate. Communicate. Communicate to the Stake holders. The point is over communicate. The reason for this is as you won't see the Stake Holders, the more you communicate proactively the better the Stake holders feel about the project and of course you.

3. Establish Regular meetings and touch base points with the team to remove obstacles / blockers and to ensure the project tasks are getting completed as planned.
