I am starting to work on a project to define the requirements for a data center and implement it with our existing applications. Do you know if/where can I find reference materials like templates and checklists or any other useful material ?

You can look on http://www.nww.com, Network World's site since they have good white papers and articles from vendors and other companies that may have the same project(s) you are working on. What specifically are you looking for, I may be able to help?
