Delighting the customer

Improving Customer experience & relation – this is something which every organization looks for. As a project manager what will you do one thing different than others to delight the customer?

The PMBOK will say that you should only do exactly what is expected. No more and no less.

So as far as project deliverables go, these should always be exactly as agreed and signed off.

Where you have the chance to delight however, is delivering on time, under budget, and making the whole project 'experience' a good one. You are an ambassador for the whole profession remember

The first thing to do is to define who is your customer or client. In my case, we use for years the definition "customer is the next in the process". And key is to understand that customer or client is one of your project stakehodlers so you have to perform project stakeholder analysis taking them into account.
