Who among you is using a project log log?
I am using one built in excel. I have four sheets (actions, info/decisions, issues, change).

I use this log as a basis for the weekly status meetings to prepare the agenda and to track whether action are moving ahead or closed.

Is there some of you using this approach?

Matteo, do you track risks in your weekly meetings? If not, I would sew this into your meetings. Yours is simple in nature however, you know best your needs for your specific project.

Thanks for your feedback John. You're right, I should add the risk session too as the can arise everyday and a fallback plan shall be foreseen in advance.
I am submittin my method as I am not sure it is the best and always looking for something more effective. How to do you conduct weekly meeting and keep track of incoming topics?

You system is simple yet sound effective.

Personally I would but all in one sheet, with identifier (your actual sheet plus risk). If not already in a status (Active/Close/New). So to have a complete view a active view and newer incoming..

We all have our preferences and each project is different.

I regularly use project logs. Depending on the project it might "only" be tracked in OneNote or "even" in SharePoint in a list with different views and filters and analysis in pivot tables and dashboards.

Yes, I do exactly the same as you. My spreadsheet has tabs for Actions, Issues, Risks, Decisions as standard and then depending on the project I add changes, contacts, key milestones or whatever else I need.

Yes, I use project logs consisting of all lists already mentioned, complemented with lists for tracking purposes like financials, milestones etc.
If these logs are not mandatory by the organization regulations a PM has to observe, they should be maintained by him/herself and if it is only when you have to be substituted (or will you have a relaxing holiday without this?).
