Whats the one critical feature or functionality you need out of your PM tool?
Drew FordDirector of Operations| Business InstrumentsKs, United States
As we continue to evolve our PM tool we look to hear from Project Managers regarding features/functionality that makes there PM tool a success for them.
Would love to hear what functionality you must have and if there is one feature/functionality you wish you could have.
We strive to keep pushing the ability of our tool and welcome the ability to discuss what could make it even better. Saving Changes...

Ok, simple to track and report on what is going on. We definitely have this piece already nailed.

Easy configurability. Something that allows us to change required fields as the business changes, without requiring IT projects to implement.

Ahh yes the ability to customize or make changes on the fly. Yep we have that already set up and available right now- and they ability to each department to use the same tool the way they want and still work with the other groups.
Ease of use that can help increase user adoption and continued usage of the tool

We hear this one a lot, how about the ability to train a team in 1 hour? We can do this right now, simple to use without training, but can still train an entire team in an hour.

The ability to override *anything* in the product. There would be an understanding that the automatic functions of the tool would no longer work, but everything could still be maintained manually at that point. Kind of like letting a reporting tool like Cognos generate your query and report format, then going behind the scenes and changing the SQL. Everything should still function, but none of the autogenerate/autocalculate features would be able to be used any more.

Hmm, not sure I have heard this one before. Interesting concept to take into consideration. I worry if you give anyone or everyone access to "override" it could cause a lot of problems if a mistake was made or the wrong thing was overridden.
