Hello to all fellow projects managers,

Just wanted to let you know about a company called Graspskills

www.graspskills.com

They may contact you and ask you to provide training services.

In the end they refuse to pay and don't respond to your emails.

This is what happened to me, so heads up everyone.

Regards,
Sabedin

Sabedin, thanks for the heads-up warning. Any idea how they obtained your information, was there a banner advertisement on a particular page?

They found me on LinkedIn. They search for trainers near the area where the training is to be held, offer the job, complete negotiation process, sent the contract and everything seems fine.

In the end they don't pay you.

If they cannot find a trainer, they cancel the training and in this case the students lose their money since they don't give it back!

Many similar companies contacted me earlier from overseas but I did not go ahead with giving any training as I did not feel right and what Sabedin just mentioned confirms that I took the right decision.

Reputable training companies do not need to contact individuals to give training on their behalf so to start with, this is a red flag.

Hi Sabedin, Thanks for the heads up. I don't know how will they survive with corrupt business practices.

I would also like to talk about a company that follows unethical practices - PMaspire. They are in business of copying the content from other websites and passing them as their own.

I do not have any business relation with PMaspire. They copied my content and tried to besmirch my reputation. They started telling others that I copied their content. So, I had to write a blog post to prove that my content was indeed original & genuine - http://www.pmbypm.com/pmaspire-review-dont...-pmp-simulator/

I believe there are all kind of companies, so we have to be careful.

I totally agree with Mr. Subedin.
I am one of the victim of Graspskills. I have delivered the PMP training for them and have been following up since last 14 months.
Now they have stopped responding to my emails and answering the calls.

They have different phone lines from US / UK / Australia and all are routed to India.
Their executives are all with Pseudo names like John, Steven, Dustin, Teena etc.

Useless Organization.

Stay Away from such companies.

I don't understand how they would get your email address on LinkedIn, unless you actually provide it to them. Am I missing something?

Ste'phane, I question the same however, LinkedIn has been hacked a couple times over in the last five or six years. Perhaps this is an ideal time to change our LinkedIn passwords in the event there was yet another.

Just a thought...

That is a thought, John. I suspect, however, that if someone had obtained my email address, they would be using it for more nefarious purposes than trying to get me to do free training.
