Give of my time directly to my team, probably the most precious thing I have to give. For example, once a month I spend a full day 1-1 with one of my direct reports. This is in addition to weekly individual check-in meetings, weekly team meetings, and being available over digital collaboration tools. My staff have told me that they greatly value and appreciate my giving of my time.
You can inspire your team with your actions, and be respected as a leader -
1) when you lead by example
2) give respect & credit and take responsibility
3) keep faith and trust your team
4) blend professional will with personal humility
5) know that no one respects yet you follow mediocrity
6) empower others to take decisions
7) stand tall when the situation demands, and
8) place the team victory above your personal glory
