Hello,
I'm looking for any information people might have on PMP boot camp (live) classes.

Over the years I've realized learning in a traditional classroom environment is the best way for me to learn. Having the instructor in the same room, as well as other students, is much more engaging than web or video.

I have found a number of companies that offer live classes. I'm in Portland OR, but all of them offer classes all over the country, so feedback from other locations would still be valuable to me!

Most of the four day classes cost about $2000, which will be out of pocket for me, so I would really appreciate any feedback on them or other classes people have found to be worthwhile!

Five that I have found so far:
PM Study http://www.pmstudy.com
PM Academy https://projectmanagementacademy.net
Project Weavers https://www.projectweavers.com
The Knowledge Academy https://www.theknowledgeacademy.com/
PM Training Institute http://www.4pmti.com/

Cheers!
Brian

I took the 4 day boot camp from PMTI and found it to be very useful. I took the exam within 2 weeks of attending the camp and cleared it. Though, I am not sure if they conduct any boot camp in OR.

Hi Brian,

You can also check traditional classroom training from Christopher Scordo's co. ( https://goo.gl/8BPtsk ) You can check their schedule here - ( https://goo.gl/V7rRLR ) They provide a better value proposition then their competition.

I did a comparison of 6 popular instructor-led online classes and I found Scordo's classes to be the best. Classroom training is certainly different but you can read the comparison on instructor-led online classes here - http://www.pmbypm.com/best-instructor-led-...raining-course/

Good luck.

As a PMP boot camp provider, we strive to be as transparent as possible with prospective students. When a student calls us we provide them with the name of the instructor and give them samples of the materials. This allows you to evaluate us thoroughly. Remember, you are going to be in the class for several days straight so you want to make sure the instructor is top notch. If the provider can't tell you the instructor's name or give you samples of their materials, then you could be asking for trouble. Finally, when evaluating a provider, be sure to search for reviews online. Dozens of 5-star reviews that are anonymous or a first name only should ignored. Visit our pmp certification schedule and find out more about us at https://www.edwel.com

I took a four day online boot camp from projectmanagementacademy.com. The instructor was really good, and they offer tutoring sessions weekly where instructors answer questions from students.

I am retaking the boot camp this week (right before I sit for the exam) as a refresher too!
That's great you can re-take the boot camp, Sue. Is that included in the inital costs or is there an additional fee for taking it again?

Talk to your local PMI chapter. There is a good chance that they offer classes at a discounted rate, through one or more of these providers, or one of comparable quality, at a discounted rate for chapter members.

For me, I took online training from Career Academy (http://bit.ly/2fnjzjJ). I chose this because it is more affordable than other trainings and bootcamp. I didn't regret it because the course is enough to be prepared along with studying PMBOK and taking other exam simulators online. That's how I prepared for my PMP exam.

I would AVOID PMTI Bootcamp. I took this course and followed all of the outlined requirements. The class was not very helpful. the Instructor was very knowledgeable, but did not follow a good delivery process. There were four of us that took the test within 5 days after the bootcamp and we all failed. There were multiple areas on the exam that were not discussed in the class. I studied for one week using PMZilla and watching videos from Praizion and was able to pass the exam one week later. I did reach out to PMTI to inform them of my exam failure the day I failed. They sent me a study guide the day before my retake that was very generic and only told me to look at the PMBOK and study to retake. They told me that they would not issue me a refund as that is not how they function. There are too many other good boot camps and programs to pay for that are a lot less money and that actually care about their customers. The money back guarantee is false and misleading.
