I've recently been reassigned to provide support for our information security office. I am looking for good training/certifications that might help in beefing up my background in security. Are there good resources you have used to successfully made this change?

I'm sure a good start is ComTia Plus resources, lots of information and lots of traning material available.

Not sure if that's the ask here.

CompTIA Security + is a good over all best practices type certification. I have gotten that certification and it wasn't too difficult if you have general knowledge already. CompTia certs are (I believe) around $295 and are valid for 3 years.

I have seen recommendations for Certified Information Systems Security Professional and Certified Information Security Manager but have no experience in those certifications to know what all they may cover or how long they are valid for.
