Hello,

Would anyone advise against using an education provider that is NOT on PMI's R.E.P. (registered education provider) list to earn the 35 contact hours? I found a PMP certification course. It fits my timeframe and schedule. But the provider is not on PMI's R.E.P. (registered education provider) list. In fact, the providers I found on PMI's R.E.P. list are not fitting into my schedule. Is it safe to go ahead and sign up with the education provider that is not on PMI's list? Has anyone had problems doing so?

In case you are curious, the certification course is offered through CSU Long Beach: http://www.ccpe.csulb.edu/continuinged/cou...OfferingID=1280

Hello Ibukun,

at least you should as k the provider for a documentation about the course hours you can use to validate the 35 "contact hours" to PMI.
And you may ask the PMI customer care center if they would accept the "contact hours" from this specific provider and under which circumstamces.

To be 100% save i always would recommend to use an R.E.P.

You may refer to this guide for further information:

And do you know that there are self paced courses available which you always can fit to your own schedule?

Much of my 35 contact hours came from internal Project Management courses at my employer, and at previous employers. Some face to face, some online. They were accepted by PMI.

Thank you Markus and John. I will reach out to the education provider and PMI about this and weigh the options. A self-led course would be a second alternative. I have done a handful of self-led studying and learning. Just wanted to be in a classroom setting for a change. Thanks again!
