Please refer the Earn PDU's page of the PMI.ORG.
Has anyone earned PDU's on the basis of "Work as a Practitioner - Working in your certified role ". If yes - please provide me with the details of how one should earn the PDU's. Is it that if I create a WBS for a new project I am entitled for the PDU's equivalent to time taken to create the WBS.

I have not since the change over, Aejaz. I checked out the CCR Certification Requirements Handbook.

On the one hand, the handbook says you can earn one PDU per hour. Yet you can only report a maximum of 8 PDUs per cycle, against Working as a practitioner.

That would seem to imply that eight hours as a practitioner is sufficient to for a single PMP cycle.

It is a bit strange.

The CCR system is clear that you can only claim the max PDUs for "Work as a Practitioner" for doing so for the entire length of your certification cycle -- that is, 8 PDUs for 3 years, not just for 8 hours of work. Full quote below.

- If you were actively working within the profession for the entire 3 years of your certification cycle, the maximum allowable PDU value can be claimed (8 for PMP, PgMP, PfMP, and PMI-PBA; 4 for PMI-ACP, PMI-RMP, PMI-SP)
- If you were actively working within the profession for half of your certification cycle, half of the maximum allowable PDU value can be claimed (4 for PMP, PgMP, PfMP, and PMI-PBA; 2 for PMI-ACP, PMI-RMP, PMI-SP)
