I apologize for asking MS Project related questions in this forum, but I could not find the answer in other forums or resources.

As of mid July, I have updated the Project file with all the information. I need to retrieve information on project status as of 30th of June. I set the status date to 30th of June BUT yet I obtain the reports with the data as of current date. Has anyone else encountered this?

PS: I am using MS Project 2010

Eduard, the status date is only used for calculating earned value, identifying the complete-through date and placing the progress line.

Thanks, Stéphane. Unfortunately I think you are right - I think it'd be very valuable that MS Project allow the PM to travel back in time and fetch information (i.e. actual work, % completion, etc.) from any point in time throughout project life cycle.

Setting a baseline will preserve those settings. It's easy to do and you can always delete it after you've passed that point and it doesn't serve the purpose anymore.
