Best Industry to work as a Project Manager?

In your experience in which Industry the services of a Project Manager are most required?

From what I see, it seems that IT companies seek a vast amount of PM. I'd say that the second on the list are companies in the pharma (medical device) and manufacturing sectors.

I agree with you Eduard, IT seems to be the go to industry for Project Managers, Im currently in one myself, however as you say more industries have increase the need of PMs in their roster.

I think the best exposure you get as a PM is in an IT based KPO where the PM has a larger role to play and a broader scope to cover.

I've only worked in I.T. - but agree that I'm seeing a growing trend of PM's being needed in the field

I would say IT like everyone else but with the continued shift toward agile I've also seen many shun PMs and BAs and claim they are no longer needed. In agile the team manages itself and everyone can in theory fill every role. Sure there may be a scrum master but it's very different role in a true agile shop....of course I'm not sure how many are true agile.

I've seen a lot in construction and some of heavily regulated pharma areas

I agree with you Eduard, IT seems to be the go to industry for Project Managers, Im currently in one myself, however as you say more industries have increase the need of PMs in their roster.
