One can use different methodologies and tools (e.g., agile, waterfall, PRINCE2) to
implement the project management framework.

I worked on that environments and this is one of the best simple environments to use that. Remember that PMBOK is not a method or methodology. Is a set of things that you can use integrating that into a project life cycle.

Sergio,Thanks a ton,the point you made on PMBOK make sense. However other person commented saying we can use any of the three methodologies. Is this three methodologies be suitable for Electronics New product development? Because what I heard till date is that these three methodologies predominately used for software development, please correct me if I am wrong.I am looking for Methodology which is apt for Electronics Hardware domain to be more precise.

PMBOK is not a methodology. Agile and waterfall are not methodologies, they are approach in the first case and life cycle in the second one. PRINCE2 is a methodology. So, the first thing to do in my humble opinion, is to understand what is each thing.

I second Sergio,
They all can be used, you first need to understand what each bring to the project.

PMBOK is not a methodology. Agreed.

1.1 Purpose of the PMBOK® Guide

Annex A1 is a foundational reference for PMI’s project management professional development programs. Annex A1 continues to evolve along with the profession, and is therefore not all-inclusive; this standard is a guide rather than a specific methodology. One can use different methodologies and tools (e.g., agile, waterfall, PRINCE2) to
implement the project management framework.

Thanks

Agile methodology is not only for software development or specific to IT industry. It can be used to manage all projects in all departments.

Traditional waterfall approach lacks flexibility and adaptability as each stage needs to be completed before moving on to the next step.

If you do some research, you will be able to pick the method that best suits your requirement.
