Thanks. Does everyone need to purchase smartsheets or only the creator of the gantt chart in excel? Can someone who has not subscribed to smartsheet but has excel installed, can they modify the gantt chart once it is created? The template that you reference - this can be downloaded for free?

since it is a PowerPoint Add In i do not think that you can use it stand alone.
But you can import excel sheets to speed up the creating.
This tool has special value if those timelines you have created need to be re-used and maintained.
Like i said, i do love it and use it regularly. ;)

Thanks for the info on the power point add in for timelines. I will check it out. The times lines for the roadmap are constantly changing and will have to be updated periodically as Markus mentioned.
