I'd say 'be who you want to be' and not the other way around. You as a person know what you are, what your strengths and weaknesses are and what your vision is and you stay focused. When you have a clear goal in mind, you would more often than not achieve what you have set out for. However, if you have the habit of proving yourself to others, you run the risk of diluting your vision, focus, goals as your prime focus would be spent on pleasing others. Saving Changes...
