Everyone here moves towards to this principle : sooner or later. I would like your inputs about the Peter principle, either philosophic or practicle advices.

1- experienced examples?

2- How not falling into the trap?

3- how to get out ?

and finally perhaps the most important

4- how to spot a team's member who falls under the Peter principle?

Thanks for coming Ayat. I think we could have now 2 or 3 variables :

1- the fact that we and our comprehension evolve every days for the best, but differently from a person to another

2- and that we are just human with our limits

and mixing variable 1 + 2 in a team of 10 persons or in a team of 50 persons have not the same impact on the risk or feasibility of a project.

You are right. It doesn't have the same impact but if you as the PM are aware of this risk you can plan to manage it. Don't want to reroute the discussion but now I am thinking what are the signs that Peter principle is a big thing in an organization or not? How can we identify them? hemm
