What are the Essential Soft-skills That Make a good Project Manager?

George, good question. It is the question how to define (project) leadership - fully agree on this with Stephane (There are types of leadership we would not want to promote in PM, like Trump's, Hillary's, Hitler's but also Winterkorn's (ex VW CEO), Shkreli's).
The key differentiator for me is indeed ethics, as Avinash points out. And with that values and behaviors, culture.

There is no 100% answer yet for project management.

PMI's talent triangle gives a list, PMBoK gives an other list of 11, IPMA's eye of competence gives a third list. Some overlaps but many specific items. There are many books, I personally like

The article is really valuable with communication and team building skills leading the pack of course. Without these two skills you just can't either influence or manage conflicts.
