I agree 100%.
While "continuous learning" is especially important for Project Managers, it is critical for anyone wanting to advance in their profession in any field. This is necessitated by the rapid pace of advancement in practically every industry.

Project manager needs to learn continuously because every project has it own characteristics challenges and variables, making it a qualitative disciple. You can set standards and processes to make it streamlined and add value but needs continuous learning in due course adapting to the most important aspect of respective projects. Example banking projects PM generally misses out on compliance which is the most important aspect, IT & services most of the time the communication matrix and escalation matrix are found faulty causing scope creep, and many more Saving Changes...

I agree in continuing to learn and expand your knowledge. This could be done within projects - or outside.
I agree that there is not always time for outside learning, but it should be scheduled in for every so often. (We are masters of scheduling things, right? ;) ) Saving Changes...

In any job you need to keep learning and never stop. If you stop learning you will be out of business in a short while, most difficult is time management, you need to carry on your project, study, keep you updated on new technologies and share all with your personal life and family...not so easy Saving Changes...
Continuous learning is a core skill. Project management demands to be constantly learning and improving soft and hard skills. I spend much of my time reading, listening and writting about project management, business analysis and technology. Web and mobile development, wireless and wireline technologies, etc. Saving Changes...
The great advantage for people who manage projects is that the learning process never ends. The PMI defines the concept of "project" as an endeavor whose result is always unique, even when the projects are carried out for the same line of business, their processes and outputs will never be repeated; and therefore, the lessons learned that are obtained throughout the project could be similar, but never the same. That's the beauty of project management, it keeps people continuously learning and improving. Saving Changes...
