I wish to add a task to a project that has been baselined, and udpate the project and summary task baselines to reflect ONLY this new task. If I add this task to the baseline (tools/tracking/save baseline/selected tasks) it does not update the summary task baselines or the project baseline. If I update the project baseline (tools/tracking/save baseline/entire project)it re-calculates new baselines for ALL the tasks, based on work done to date.
This seems like a rather fundamental requirement but I can not figure out how to do this. Any suggestions?
p.s. I am using PM 2000

With MSP2000 and before, you have to update the summary tasks manually. In MS Project 2002, you now get a new option. When baselining a selected task, there are checkboxes that ask if you'd like to have the changes reflected in all, or selected, summary lines. Saving Changes...
