My ignorance is showing. I do not know of a 6 phase life cycle for process improvement. In Six Sigma it is DMAIC (Design, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control). In the Helix Total Value Management Method (the Integrated Business Improvement / SDLC) it is Assessment, Discovery, Requirements, Design, Contruction, Deployment and Renewal.

I did a little research and while I did not find any public domain business process templates for things like order processing, purchasing, and other horizontal functions I did find references in various provider literature that eluded to their template libraries. I suggest you look at some of the business process management vendors for more info. Saving Changes...
There are business process templates. Are you specifically looking for BAM or SOX; if it is neither then also these templates are a good road map of how to create or modify existing processes and help document them.
