I'm reading the book "The Project Manager's Little Book of Cheats" from Beth Spriggs, an amazing book.

Mrs. Spriggs give us the following tips about creation of strong relationships:
"1. Ask someone for their advice or opinion about something on which you're working. It shows that you value their opinion and expertise. Express appreciation for their advice.
2. Listen. Really listen. When you find your mind drifting or already crafting your reply, snap the metaphorical rubber band on your wrist, take a deep breath and listen. Ask questions about what they are saying that are still about them and not you. Most people like talking about themselves and appreciate genuine interest.
3. Offer to help if you can.
4. When someone shares something with you, ask them follow up questions to demonstrate your genuine interest in what they're saying.
5. Give a shout-out to that person or people they manage. Vocalize to someone else your appreciation for something that person has done for you."

Do you agree with these tips and have other tips to share?

Do your job well. Demonstrate that you can be trusted to do the things that are expected of you. Work from a foundation of trust, and the things mentioned above will be more meaningful.
