Are CPI and SPI the natural KPIs for a project or still we could find others, more representing, to be the project's KPIs?

PV cannot be considered as KPI . It is just a planned value making no indication of performance when taken as discrete value. EV, AC, CV & SV may be considered in KPI if compared with ideal or standard figures like in benchmarking.

Great question, Farid!
KPI's or KRA's can vary depending on project size, by industry, and even from one organization to another.
In several IT projects, EVM is little used, since it is tough to estimate "% complete" which is one of the foundations of the technique. Even where available, it is very difficult to estimate the accuracy of the date.
On the flip side, most large infrastructure and engineering projects use CPI & SPI as natural KPIs. Of course, there will be several other KPIs apart from these two.

The answer is: it depends on what you need to meassure with the KPI. And on the other side, about what is the audience and their needs to inform in your Project Communication Plan. In our case we use both such as other related indicators inside the earned value method that are intended to predict future status. (I agree with you that EV, AC and others are not indicators, are values needed to calculate the indicators).
