Where do I search for quality freelancers without paying too much fees?

So, I will need some freelancers to join my projects in order to finish them quickly. I was wondering about using upwork for that, but I see they have some really expensive fees, freelancer is incredibly uncomfortable to use. What other platforms do you use and why, if I may ask?
