After a quick glance, I can say I was expecting so much more...

But maybe it's just that I haven't had the chance to take a close look at it. Has anyone really tried out Microsoft Planner?

Not yet.

Yes, it looks promising. A great tool to support team work, planning, organizing, collaboration, assigning tasks. The best part - status updates, dashboards, alerts and notifications.

Yes, we are started using the same, with our contract of office 365....it is very useful. With Planner, teams can create new plans; organize, assign and collaborate on tasks; set due dates; update statuses and share files, while visual dashboards and email notifications keep everyone informed on progress. Advantage is good collaboration within the team and also for the senior management to see what is happening.
