My organization is in the Pharm sector and our projects tend to be engineering focused (i.e. construction, process improvement vs. software development). We use a homegrown application in conjunction with Project 98 for scheduling, tracking and portfolio management. I have been asked to lead an analysis with respect to implementing some enterprise-level, project management solution. My analysis ultimately needs to be the basis for a business case that I must deliver to management. I am curious if anyone has material that quantifies and presents the value, risk and impact of implementing a project management tool. So far, I have been able to uncover plenty of qualitative factors, however, I am having difficulty locating information about ROI and cost of ownership with respect to project management implementations and technology. Any level of detail is greatly appreciated on this subject.
