Paul, I am currently just wrapping up a CRM business case study, where we looked at SalesLogix among others. Not sure what your requirements are, but felt Pivotal, even Microsoft CRM had better SFA and Customer Service features. They were also more simplistic from a usability standpoint and had better integration with Outlook.
We are already past the selection process. We had 8 selection criteria: Functionality, Technology, Vendor, Implementation Partner, (Training, Support and Maintenance), Project Timing, Organization Compatibility, and Total Cost of Ownership. We rejected Pivotal, Onyx, Goldmine, and others. Nobody on the selection committee liked the Pivotal interface, and felt their company was financially instable + other items. Marketing functionality was important to us, and MS CRM doesn't have any. SalesLogix Outlook integration is actually pretty tight and easy to use.
I was looking for a generic project plan to benchmark against our rollout plans to gauge reasonableness. We are 3/4 complete with rollout now. But thanks for your perspective. I agree that customer service is weaker.
I would love to read your feasibility study conclusions/case study and see how we differed. Saving Changes...
