Hi Paul, despite what one reads these days about failed or troubled PPM implementations, we are seeing more and more effective implementation and use of PPM applications of all shapes and sizes from the traditional leaders in the Gartner Group PPM Magic Quadrant to the new PPM players. Two areas of consideration that we are hearing about more and more are 1) is the PPM going to be implemented as a strategic enterprise system and executive platform or is it more of a resource management application used primarily within IT. Either approach and others are all okay and can be "right". And 2) is the organization seeking to "step-up" in its PPM capabilities vis a vis its current tooling or is it open and able to implement a PPM application and components independent of and in addition to existing IT infrastructure and user tools. Again, there are many "right" answers. For example, some folks view Microsoft EPM lacking, yet others find Project Server and SharePoint to be a natural add-on to what they already have and know. I look forward to further thoughts on your post. Thanks. -- Mark Perry, Vice President of Customer Care, BOT International Saving Changes...
