I believe Project Management training is something which would be necessary for Key Team members, its different whether they do PMP certification or not.

Never talk about project management. Talk about all surrounded a project and all process will appear. For example, why do you start a project? to create a product/service/result. Why do you need it? To capture an market opportunity. Do you assure 100% you will capture it? Not. Then here comes project risk. Will you make any type of work in your project? Not. Then here comes project scope. And so on. They will define the process. And you can make the same using a daily life example. For example, what do you do when you will cook something.

Completely agree with Sergio. From my point of view, sometimes project management terminology is difficult to understand for stakeholders.

Sergios recommendation even works with project management experienced people - because sometimes even they lose focus and concentrate too much on reference model processes and forget the practicality for their own organization.
