You are asking for two different things (in my understanding): deal with people senior than you and improve your processess.
To deal with people senior than you, I have used "Solution Selling" or "SPIN selling" selling method for years and it works for me. the key is: each person has to feel that she/he will be more rich with the solution than without it. Where rich is not about more money only.
