I do not believe the 6th edition is released yet so I believe you are good to sit for the exam based on the 5th edition for now.

Hello Wayne,

in addition to what my fellow contributors already have mentioned here i want to say, that your 35 "contact hours" (not PDUs!) will stay valid now and just forever!
That means you will not need to do another 35 "contact hours" course to be allowed to apply for the PMP exam, if that was your concern.

On the other hand, if you do plan to do your PMP exam after Q1/2018 (!!!) what i not really believe, than you will need to consider the changes coming with PMBoK Guide version 6.

If you do planning to do your exam this or may be next year (what you should!) than just go for it!
The exam is and will be based on the 5th edition at least until the beginning of 2018.

Just as mentioned by the previous comments, the PMBOK Guide 6th Edition will be published in Q3 2017. So you can as well go ahead with your PMP Exam Preps and Sit for the exam before the change in Exam guideline based on the 6th Edition of PMBOK Guide.
