I've joined the NYC local PMI chapter, and I haven't completely taken advantage of everything it offers... Just wanted to hear from others who are local chapter members to hear what aspects of membership are most rewarding. e.g. volunteer opportunities?

Every event has a different taste - It depends on what you are looking for. Dinners and gathering are excellent for networking for example.

So far I didn't get any opportunity to volunteer :(

Not much communication, email, notifications from local chapter
Networking is limited, local members need to open up

Attended 2 sessions on Leadership & Agile :)

Renewed chapter membership for another year, still need to find the worth.

I have yet to attend a Chapter activity, but hope to attend a dinner in October.

I've found that volunteering made me feel most connected to my chapter. If the chapter has a professional development day, that's usually a very good event as well.
