Thanks for the share Anupam.
Some very interesting, positive changes. I just listened to an interview around Benefits Management on the PM Podcast. I think its the latest episode, I'd recommend it.
I like how they are incorporating Agile into each of the Knowledge areas as well, and the clean up of others. As a PMI member, we have access to a free PDF version of the book. I hope to have access to the 6th edition once released - of course with an active membership. Saving Changes...

Thanks for the link. I'm genuinely excited about the 6th edition. I look forward to the expansion of the business and strategic alignment.
I'm glad they're incorporating more Agile, but to be honest, I'm a little nervous about that. No offense intended towards anyone, but PMI has been behind the curve on Lean and Agile. The 5th edition's descriptions were incomplete at best, and often misleading. Perhaps we fail here due to our tendency as project managers to hoard data and micromanage plans, without recognizing the waste we're creating. Conversely, many project managers describe "Agile" as if it were simply a set of practices we can add to our ITTOs, rather than a completely different way of organizing and conducting business.
I hope the 6th edition draws a more complete distinction and provides PMs with a sufficient background to at least speak competently about Agile. I also hope we come up with a better term than "traditional" as a contrast to Agile, since this new revision is more evidence that PMI consistently tests and incorporates new practices in order to provide the best materials and training. I was one of the reviewers. I make lot of concerns about agile items included. Why? Because once again the word "agile" is used and items added are about agile related to software. And agile is not software, is not a process. is not a life cycle. But to be honest, nobody knows how the last version will be.

That's true, until Q3 - 2017, no idea. I'll look for your name in the appendix :) mine will be there too.
