Some organizations suggest everyone is responsible for process improvement. That is okay if that is how they choose to implement changes in their organization. However, effective process improvement must be initiated at the project management office, department, or human resources department levels. Although process improvements can save cost and stabilize processes, that would not necessarily mean that it would be deemed to be an improvement to an organization. Therefore, process improvement must consider the channels that it develops, the individuals that would benefit from the process, and whether these processes can be mapped to previous process improvement initiatives in organizations to determine their effectiveness or relevance at the business and organization level.
