If you want to hire a project manager, how much of emphasis will you place on her industry / domain knowledge?

You need a project manager to run a critical project in your bank. how much of emphasis will you place on his knowledge of banking industry?

I will at least put 70% Emphasis on that because Banking projects are sensitive.

Very little. One does not need to have functional expertise to be an effective PM. It is more about asking the right questions, building a high functioning team, applying the science (methodologies & tools) so one can concentrate on the art (conflict management, decision making,...).
