Suggestion on using LinkedIn to promote talent and services

Reading a post here from Kesiraju V Ramakrishna got me to realize that most of us use LinkedIn or other professionals social network. But we might not use it efficiently to promote our talent or services.

Any suggestions on Improving usage of those networks?

I've used the trial premium services on Linkedin and honestly I have not seen much benefit. I've used it more than once and all I could see was "who viewed my profile". I'm still waiting to understand other benefits associated with the Premium services.

Patient and dedicated, because free trial is only one month. :)

The part I have not gotten into yet is the use of Projects. It looks like this could be very useful for us, project managers.
