I did not need to claim PDU's for my blog as I had enough PDU's but I know for a fact you can do that - Go to https://ccrs.pmi.org/claim:
1- If you read a blog: Go to READ under Education and claim the PDU's there.
2- If you write a blog: Go to Create Content under Giving Back and claim the PDU's there.

I attend webinars, e-learning, read white papers, journals, etc. other than www.projectmanagement.com that enables for extra PDUs. I have renewed my credential in less than a year after attaining it. Any PDUs claimed now is reported to current cycle, so PDUs are secondary at this point.
