Anyone used and external firm to help size business-driven IT prjects for annual budget cycle? How did it work out? Who did you use?

We typically have a dozen or so projects and one week to provide order of magnitude scope, schedule, and resources/cost.

Thank you for your comment. I would be missing a potential opportunity if I did not put the question out there, but I am skeptical of what I see companies offering online in terms of services and/or tools.

Thank you for your comment. I would be missing a potential opportunity if I did not put the question out there, but I am skeptical of what I see companies offering online in terms of services and/or tools.

I forgot to mention that is my opinion obviously based on my personal experience. One thing that helps a lot to me to not lose my job and the opportunities to work in several companies around the world is to be honest. I have no complains with use an external company. But if and only if, when you use an external firm or contractor, she/he works on demonstrate that the solution is in your hand just in case you are not able to visualize it. And believe me that the organization is able to visualize it most of the times but the problem is the organization do not want to accept it. That is because this type of work is a short duration contract.
