As you see, I own some certifications. PMI-PBA is one of them and I have the honor to be the first one in Latin America. I am saying all that tying to put on the table what a certification means to me. But if you ask me, to be honest, a certification will not garantee that the owner is a professional or the owner will help you to achieve your initiative objectives. The only way I found along the years to convince the organization about the need to work with prople that owns certifications or to pay certifications to people is for a organizational image reason. The reality is that PMI-PBA has been in market for less than 2 years but has recently surpassed 1,000 certification holders.
