Hi, I have just started my prep based on current version PMBOK 5. Planning to schedule my exam in Feb/March 2017. Does version 6 release impact anything?

The PMBOK® Guide – Sixth Edition will be published in Q3 2017.
PMP Exam will be updated in 2018, may be in Q1 (not confirmed officially).

This means you still have enough time to prepare, sit and pass the exam using PMBOK® Guide – Fifth Edition

Hello bihavani,

there is nothing to add to what Anupam has written regarding your request.
But may be i have some other helpful information for you regarding your preparation itself.

A good start was this guide here:

? The Complete Guide To “How To Get PMP Certification” ?:

If you on LinkedIn than you should look out for the

"I want to be a PMP" group.
It is the biggest and most activ user group related to PMP certification in the world and i am one of the administrators there. You can find a ton of helpful information. Daily sample question discussions and so on ...

And may be this here might be interesting for you:

Let me be your PMP guide program:
http://projectmanagement.plus/en/ressource...p-guide-program

Would love to see you somewhere there.

All the best for your preparation and your exam anyway.

Regards,

Markus

Hi Anupam,

this is the waiting list for our "let me be your PMP guide" program.
Cause of capabilities we have limited seats for this cost free program.
And we could only enroll new participants when others are finished.

We also working on the option to pay for the program (just a little administration fee) but this will need some more time ...

Did this answer your question?

Markus

Hello Anupam,

this program is designed as a study plan for all new PMP aspirants and runs for 12 to 14 weeks.
It should cover (and will) all the topcis which are relevant for every PMP aspirant.
It is still kind of under development and will be continuously developed further.
You should find all the further info at the website.
Of course you can participate and i would be glad if you will refer it to your colleagues.
Just send a short mail like advised on the website. You will then receive the first section of the program immediately so you could see what to expect.
And of course for projectmanagement.com fellows we will do an exception and find a free seat shortly ... ;)

Hi Bhavani, Your Q is already answered by many - new PMBOK guide will be published in Q3, 2017 and exam will change in Q1, 2018. next 2-3 months. Most people need less than 12 weeks to crack the exam. You can refer to this article - http://www.pmbypm.com/how-much-time-is-req...mp-preparation/ The major inference from the article is that one should not take the PMP exam within 12 weeks of starting the preparation. Otherwise a reasonable time-frame is about 6–8 weeks. Good luck.
