I am out of work for studying master degree. I just knew that my organization started up with PMO. I do not know How can I provide help for them when I back to work? I never worked in PMO before. Then only way to be successful with starting a PMO is because an strategic need justify that. You have to make or get the strategic analysis or something similar from the leadership group. Mainly the functions your organization needs to survive in the current environment. When you get the functions your organization will decide if those functions deserve to be located into a new business unit (PMO) or not. The second thing is to understand that everything you do inside your organization will impact the organization as a whole because it will change the enterprise architecture. This will create a business problem to solve.
